2010 Global Service-Learning Programs - Amizade Semester Opportunities in Bolivia, Brazil, Tanzania

Dear Colleagues:

Amizade is pleased to announce its 2010 academic year global service-learning programs in conjunction with West Virginia University*.

This year, Amizade is offering *3 semester programs

** *in addition to winter break, spring break, and summer opportunities*. *The programs combine rigorous academic inquiry, community-driven development, systematic consideration of global citizenship, intercultural immersion and exchange, and ongoing reflective inquiry. Amizade is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a *15-year record of safely connecting people across cultures through service. *

Amizade continues to work to make programs *as affordable as possible*, through keeping program fees as low as possible as well as offering scholarship opportunities. A brief, volunteer-produced video summarizing our semester programs is available here.

*The programs are pending final approval by the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and the Associate Provost for International Academic Affairs, but have been approved by the Director of the WVU Center for Civic
Engagement, the Proposing Faculty Member, The Relevant Department Chairpersons, and the Office of the Dean of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences. WVU has granted formal approval to promote the programs as pending
final approval.
