Hi Ann. Thanks for noticing the template change--I actually didn't add the flowers--they just popped up on their own, like a nice little May surprise. ;-)

Thanks a lot for responding to the forum about things you'd like to see on CTE's service-learning page. Your comments were very helpful. I'll be working on that in the next couple of weeks.

Congratulations on becoming one of the CII Fellows! Wow, you're really racking up the accomplishments these days!!! Awesome work.

Thanks Ann; I enjoyed your presentation last week too. I would like to see AEL embrace a broader vision of engagement, across campus, community and globe. That said, I think they have done a marvelous job to date.

Hi Ann,
Thanks for the shout-out on your S&I blog. You post great, insightful stuff there, and I always enjoy reading it. It's also interesting to learn about how you think about some of the readings, resources, etc. that get posted on Engaged Illinois. Thanks for posting some of your photos here, too! I look forward to seeing more things posted by members. (-: See you at Monday's seminar. Valeri

Ann,

I'm glad you like the new SOE Seminar format. I'm excited about it and think it has a lot of potential for bringing new people into the mix. I think Scott Schwartz's work is fascinating. Many of the issues that he discussed on Monday really resonated with me and made me think back to the community arts programming work I did a number of years ago in collaboration with Krannert Art Museum. You might want to encourage Scott to join the network--he is on the listserv. I'm having trouble trying to communicate to folks that it's helpful to do both. There is value to having a member page with a picture so that people can see who is involved and can contact them through the network.

Thanks also for your comments on the resources that I've been posting. As you know, it can be a lonely business, so I'm always happy to hear when people are making use of the things that I'm uploading and/or finding them helpful! I appreciate the support. Val

Dear Ann,

I am, alas, running a few days behind on reading my e-mail. I've just discovered I missed this opportunity! Please keep me in the loop.

many thanks for your note,

Thanks Ann for the reminder. I have moved a meeting so I can attend today. I need to find a better way to learn about these type of events and then post them on the Office of Public Engagement website and help get the word out.

thank you,

Kris

I promise to do my best to attend. I enjoyed the last workshop. Unfortunately, I missed the past two sessions because I was out of town.

Hi Ann

Thanks for the note, and I am very interested in what you are doing. Unfortunately I help with a class that meets 3-4, but I would certainly like to learn more sometime. - bruce

I wish I could, but we have our faculty meeting at 2-4 and it usually runs over.

I've been impressed with what you've been doing already this year, and hope we get a chance to talk about it soon.

Ann: Illinois had a great representation at IS-SOTL (the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning). There were 8 of us who attended AND presented: besides myself, Walt Hurley, Prasanta Kalita, Michael Loui, Donna Charlevoix, Ruth Yontz, Kim Graber, and Donna Charlevoix. It was wonderful opportunity for us to get together and talk - something that is sometimes difficult even though we are all on the same campus! Perhaps, next year - you can present at IS-SoTL (will be in Bloomington, IN)?
